Pundit Ally McCoist has offered a transfer warning to Manchester United regarding young Holland star Cody Gakpo.
The PSV winger is being linked with a move to a big club after his explosive start to the season.
Gakpo scored the only game as the Netherlands claimed a 1-0 win over Senegal in their first group stage game of the World Cup.
“I know there's a player in there, but I'm just not 100 per cent convinced," McCoist said on commentary on ITV.
Earlier this season, Gakpo admitted that a move to United had been a possibility last summer.
He said, “I was close to leaving, I spoke to Erik ten Hag a few times at Manchester United. In the end the deal didn't go through, which was a shame, for me and my development, and because Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world, but also for PSV, because to transfer a player to Manchester United is a good thing for the club.
“It ended about a week before the end of the transfer window and in that week I had to decide if I would go to Leeds or Southampton. In the end I stayed, but it was a stressful period."
