Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren is keen to see a technical director appointed.
Club owner Mike Ashley has left the running of the Tyneside club to his on-site staff - with managing director Lee Charnley, chief scout Graham Carr and McClaren making the major decisions.
However, the People says that McClaren is considering a revamp behind-the-scenes.
The former England head coach has had experience on the continent of working with a technical director - and that is one of his ideas that is up for discussion.
