McClaren: Bournemouth boss Howe could handle Arsenal job

Former England coach Steve McClaren says Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe could handle the Arsenal job.

McClaren admits he's a big fan of Howe.

"It may take five years, even 10 but I can see it happening," said the ex-Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Derby manager. “And Eddie Howe could be the standard-bearer.

“I've followed his career - we had a few good battles against Bournemouth when I was at Derby - and he is one of them who sets up his teams to play football.

“Building from the back, completing attacks, working hard to win the ball back, pressing opponents – he has that mentality.

“He could be an Arsenal manager. I can certainly see that."
