Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy is disappointed they failed to land Spartak Moscow winger Aiden McGeady last week.

McCarthy was genuinely dismayed that the move fell through.

"I'm gutted not to see him come as he would have been a massive player for us," he said.
