Mazda involved with new Omani cup competition

The Oman Football Association (OFA) has announced that its existing car partner Mazda has agreed to title sponsor a new cup competition in the country, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. The Mazda Professional Cup, as the competition will be known, will feature the 14 soccer teams from the Omantel Professional League and will begin on 14th November.

"We realise football is super important to the country and we are proud to work with the association," said Riyadh Ali Sultan, a director at Mazda in Oman. "The new Mazda Professional Cup will allow us to continue to invest in the sport and we look forward to seeing a successful tournament."

OFA general secretary Sultan Al Zadjali added: "As part of the partnership, Mazda will be providing vehicles to all the 14 teams in the top division, and their investment in the association and in the sport is a big part of our plans.

"Mazda are a very strong partner for the association and we welcome this long term support."
