Charis Mavrias and Valentin Roberge are expected to leave Sunderland this summer.
The Daily Star says the pair spent time out on loan last season, and the Black Cats wish to offload both this summer.
Panathinaikos are willing to make Mavrias' loan deal permanent, but for a fraction of the £2m Sunderland paid them for him two years ago.
Roberge, however, is reportedly asking for too high a wage, thus scuppering any chance of a permanent move away from Wearside, and reports suggest the club may have to look to loan him out once more before his contract expires next summer.
