Matthaus urges BVB superkid Moukoko to resist Barcelona, Chelsea offers

Germany legend Lothar Matthaus has urged Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko to stay where he is.

Moukoko, 18, has still not renewed his contract with Dortmund. In addition to Chelsea, Manchester United and PSG, Barcelona are interested in his services.

In an opinion piece published on Sky's website, former Germany international Matthäus wrote: “He should stay at Borussia Dortmund for at least another year or two and not immediately follow the money. He has recently become a permanent fixture for Terzic. He is still very young, has a great future and a fantastic career ahead of him."

The former Bayern player is well aware that making the step up to a top team would be a major challenge for a youngster like Moukoko.

“There are many examples of young players who left for England or other big leagues too early because they couldn't wait," Matthäus said.

Borussia Dortmund is one of the best clubs in Europe for young players. That's why I would be grateful in his place, continue to give my all, score many more goals for BVB and then go on to the next adventure," he concluded.
