Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthaus can see Thiago Alcantara leaving for Liverpool.

Thiago is being linked with the Reds ahead of the summer market, with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitting his admiration in his recent days.

Matthaus believes that the latest rumours could point towards the player moving to Anfield, particularly as Thiago has rejected a new contract offer.

"[For] Thiago, I'm pretty sure the signs are goodbye," Matthaus told Sport Buzzer.

“What else would he have for not having accepted Bayern's offer?

“Liverpool is obviously very popular with him and he would absolutely love the football and the team of Jürgen Klopp."
