Manuel Pellegrini insists Manchester City will continue to fight tooth and nail for the Premier League title.
The Citizens scored late to force a 2-2 draw with Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night which has them seven points behind league leaders Liverpool and only a game in hand.
Pellegrini admits that his City side may have still been affected by Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Reds but has made it clear that they will do everything to bridge the gap on the Anfield club in the final five fixtures of the campaign.
"There were a lot of things missing from the team today," he told Sky Sports.
"I think the most important thing is we could not take out of our minds the game against Liverpool."
The Chilean added: "We are in a worse position but there are still mathematical chances and we will fight to the end."
