Juan Mata was delighted to get on the Manchester United scoresheet in their 4-0 rout of QPR.
Mata struck in the second-half after a cross from Angel di Maria.
"I think we played much, much better than the first games," said the Spaniard. "From the first minute until the last we tried to score more and more and I think that is what we have to do with the players we have. We have to play well, score goals and be compact in defence.
"It is very important for us [to win]. Hopefully it is the first step in a run of good results. It's an important three points and now we will be training hard in the week and hopefully we will get another win next weekend.
"For me, I have to get into the box. I can help my team by scoring goals and it is my second of the season so I am happy with that."
