Mason Mount proud taking Man Utd No7

Mason Mount is honoured to take the No7 shirt at Manchester United.

Mount's £60m move from Chelsea was confirmed yesterday.

On taking the No7, the midfielder told MUTV: "So many iconic players have played for this club and watching them as a youngster and also being a fan of them, it is very special to be here. This is what I've worked a long, long time for and it is so exciting.

"I had a lot of idols. Ronaldo, you see the little video of me when I was younger. I loved watching him play. Becks [David Beckham] was also a massive inspiration of mine, I was in awe of his free-kick technique. You take bits of inspiration from different players."

Mount is now eager to tackle a first preseason with United.

He also said: "Pre-season is huge, it gets you in the right shape going into the season so the most important thing for me was getting there and being ready on day one and being able to meet all the players, the manager and get working as we have a big season ahead. We want to win trophies and be successful,' he said.

"You love it [pre-season] and you hate it at the same time. They're all difficult. I've heard a little bit about the first couple of weeks of training and it is going to be tough but that's what it is all about."
