Obafemi Martins is determined to hit the goal trail for Newcastle United.
He said: "Yes it has been difficult for me.
"I was injured, and then almost straight after recovering, got injured again.
"To score my first goal against West Brom last Tuesday night since the first game of the season at Manchester United is a big relief.
"I hope to score plenty of goals now to make up for lost time."
Despite his frontman's barren spell, Newcastle interim manager Joe Kinnear has complete faith in the £10million former Inter Milan striker and has pleaded with him to be more selfish in front of goal.
Martins said: "I have taken on board what the manager has said but if I think there is a better pass on, of course I will pass it.
"But if there is a chance to be taken, I will be going for goal. I know what I have to do now."
