Obafemi Martins has pledged his future to Newcastle United.

The Nigerian has been starved of first-team chances since the return of Michael Owen and was keen on a move to Arsenal in the summer.

But the 23-year-old Nigerian has dismissed suggestions he will quit Tyneside and return to Serie A.

"I'm staying at No 9 for Newcastle," he said. "I'm not even thinking of going anywhere. I'm OK here. I know that the fans love me."
