Everton boss Roberto Martinez insists the club will reward Leighton Baines for his loyalty.
The Toffees are due to offer the England left-back a fresh deal which would see him pocket around £75,000-a-week after he opted not to join Manchester United in the summer.
Reports suggested that Everton had opened talks with Baines regarding a new contract and although that is not the case, Martinez says the 28-year old will be looked after.
"At the moment, all it is is the games and any individual contracts or situations are put aside," said the Spaniard.
"The only thing that concerns me is just to make sure he's as fit as he can be and gets in a stronger position and balances the demands of England and club level.
"That's what I'm focused on, that his day to day is perfect.
"Everything else, behind the scenes we're happy with the situation and we're making sure he's happy as well."
