Marseille midfielder Joey Barton has received a two-game suspended ban for insulting Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva on Twitter.

The on-loan QPR midfielder appeared before the French Football Federation ethics committee for a second time after his offensive Twitter outburst about the Brazilian last month.

Marseille swiftly ordered Barton to cut out his comments and he has since apologised to both PSG and Silva.
