Olympique Marseille coach Andre Villas-Boas has spoken of the influence Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho had on his career.

Mourinho had AVB on his staff at Chelsea before the latter departed to make his own way in the game.

He told L'Equipe: “The ability of Portuguese coaches to adapt to different environments has allowed us to impose ourselves.

"We also used our wisdom, our study of the game, and our ability to lead a team and communicate.

"It is certain that Artur Jorge and José Mourinho were the first great ambassadors of Portuguese coaches abroad. This has allowed us to open doors in any corner of the world."
