Olympique Marseille coach Andre Villas-Boas has branded Aston Villa's offer for Morgan Sanson as "pathetic".

After defeat to Lens last night, AVB confirmed a bid from Villa.

He revealed, "The offer was turned down because it was pathetic.

"There was an offer, which had nothing to do with what we talked about on the phone. We refused immediately and the player remains focused on OM at the moment.

"If Morgan leaves, we must attack the transfer window immediately."
