Marseille coach Tudor admits kicking Arsenal fullback Tavares out of training

Arsenal fullback Nuno Tavares was banished from training at Olympique Marseille last week.

Tavares has spent the season on-loan in France, where he has largely impressed.

Indeed, OM coach Igor Tudor has stated Tavares has the ability "to play Real Madrid or Barcelona".

But speaking to L'Equipe, Tudor revealed that Tavares was once sent back to the changing rooms during training because he "was not making necessary efforts".

He also admitted that wing-back Jonathan Clauss was singled out for the same reason.

He said: "In my football, there is a feature, you have to run.

"And if you don't… If I see one player that doesn't run in training, I'll say it once, twice and then on the third time of asking, I'll intervene.

"During the hour or so of training, I am demanding, the players have understood it.

"But if they want rest days, I can give them some too. And we can joke or laugh, but work is work."
