Olympique Marseille coach Didier Deschamps is being linked with Liverpool.
The News of the World says Deschamps is the top candidate for Liverpool owners NESV should Roy Hodgson fail to impress this season.
NESV will not make a change during the campaign, but have the Frenchman under consideration for next summer.
Deschamps confirmed he held talks with Liverpool last season before the appointment of Hodgson.
