Olympique Marseille hope to swoop for Newcastle United defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa this week.
The Evening Chronicle says the French giants are believed to be preparing an offer of close to £5million for the centre-half who has been told by Alan Pardew that he can leave after 18 months at St James' Park.
Talks began last week regarding Yanga-Mbiwa, 25, who cost £7.5m when he arrived from Montpellier in January 2012.
And if Marseille and the player can agree terms, his Newcastle career will be over.
