Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez has rejected a move to Chelsea.

Gomez recently agreed a new deal to 2016 with Bayern, but not before Chelsea came in with a counter offer, says Kicker.

It's claimed Chelsea held talks with Gomez's agents about a summer move to London and were confident of doing a deal before his about-face.

Chelsea had the Germany international lined up to replace Didier Drogba.
