Marcelo says he expects to stay with Real Madrid.

In what will be his 14th season in the Spanish capital, the Brazilian defender had been rumoured to be heading towards the exit door this summer, even more so with the arrival of Ferland Mendy, yet it seems certain he will now stay.

"We're working hard, we want to give our best here in and our goal is to win everything," Marcelo admitted in an interview with Real Madrid TV.

"If we are in a good physical shape, that will help us for the entire season. We're playing in pre-season to give joy to our fans."

With the veteran's future with the club having been called into question, the left-back was quick to assure fans of his commitment.

"Like I've always said, I'm fulfilling a dream by being at the best club in the world," Marcelo explained.

"It's my 14th season and I have the same enthusiasm as when I arrived. That never changes."
