Amantino Mancini is determined to prove himself at Inter Milan.
“I want to be the Mancini that people saw at Roma,” he told the Corriere dello Sport. “To start with, I have the No 30 shirt like I had in the capital and that brings me luck.
“I had a good pre-season and I’ll look to be ready when called upon. I hope to have a totally different season from the last one.”
Mancini was so disappointing in 2008-09 following his eagerly anticipated switch from the Olimpico that he was on the verge of leaving the Nerazzurri last month.
“Roma approached my agent and I did think about a return to the capital,” he admitted. “Then, on August 31, everything was done with Genoa but then (Jose) Mourinho changed my mind.”
