The Manchester City Under-21 side have been knocked out of the Checkatrade Trophy following the defeat at the hands of Chesterfield.

Manchester City played out an enthralling 2-2 draw against Chesterfield in the Checkatrade Trophy during regulation time and the winner of the match had to be decided through a penalty shootout.

Unfortunately for City, Demeaco Duhaney and Tyreke Wilson were unsuccessful from the spot and they went on to lose the shootout 4-3.

The result sealed their elimination from the competition.
