Man Utd's Evra admits World Cup dominating thoughts

Manchester United fullback Patrice Evra admits next year's World Cup is dominating his thoughts.

"Honestly, yes, I'm thinking about the World Cup a lot," he told ManUtd.com. "It will be tough, but if you want to go to the World Cup you need to win difficult fixtures like these ones."

Evra made his international debut in 2004 but wasn't part of the France squad that reached the World Cup final in 2006.

"I really want to be involved this time," he said. "It's a big dream of mine to go to the World Cup, especially because it's in Africa. I'm African - I was born in Senegal - so it's very important for me to play there.

"It's a dream to play for your country in the World Cup and I hope that dream comes true and France can do well in South Africa. But first we need to qualify and that means getting good results this week."
