England U21 boss Stuart Pearce was full of praise for Manchester United striker Fraizer Campbell after their 2-1 European Championships victory over Finland.

Campbell, who is set to join Hull City, was brought on by Pearce at half-time in a surprise substitution which saw Arsenal's Theo Walcott depart the action.

But, with the score at 1-1 and England a man light, the energy Campbell and Aston Villa's Gabriel Agbonlahor brought in a two-man attack helped swing the game in England's favour.

"We felt we had to change things and I felt we had to go 4-3-2 as I thought we could win the game with the two boys up front" said Pearce on his decision to bring off England senior star Walcott.

"Fraizer Campbell can change a game with his enthusiasm and I felt he put a good shift in.

"Theo knows the rules and knows no player is bigger than the team and accepts that."
