Chong future with Man Utd in doubt after Club Brugge declaration

Tahith Chong does not want to return to Manchester United next season.

The 21-year-old switched loans from Werder Bremen to Club Brugge in January, and the move has paid-off.

Chong has provided four assists in eight appearances for the Belgian outfit and would like to extend his loan from another season.

"Staying here for another year could give me stability, but that's for later," he told Sport/Voetbalmagazine (via Sport Witness).

"As far as I know, there is no option in the agreement; we will have to discuss that with Manchester United later.

"I like Belgium, it is a bit the same as the Netherlands. Something that is in my head: that by staying here maybe a little more stability can come, but it is now super difficult to fully focus on that."

Chong is out of contract in 2022, leaving United to decide if they want to renew his contract and loan him out again, or potentially sell him this summer for a profit.
