Man Utd youngster Buffonge reveals incredible journey from non-league football

DJ Buffonge has revealed his incredible journey from non-league football to Manchester United.

The 19-year-old, currently playing for United's reserve team, grew up in London before moving to Old Trafford in 2015.

"I started off at a Sunday League team - Broadwater Farm in London," he told the club's website. "It's grass-roots football and I started very young. I was only about four and wasn't technically allowed to play but they still let me join in!

"From there, I went to Arsenal and, from Arsenal, to Fulham and Fulham to here. Yeah, there have been a lot of moves!

"We won the Premier League tournament at Under-16 level with Fulham and it was a really good set of boys. A couple of them have broken through - the likes of Ryan Sessegnon was in my team. Both he and his brother Steven have played in the first team. Matt O'Riley is another who has already represented Fulham's senior side and Dennis Adeniran, who has moved to Everton. There are a few others too.

"It was a big move for me and my family to come north. My family actually moved up with me to help support me. So those are the people who give me advice and are very supportive. It's extremely important because it keeps me level headed, grounded and focused.

"Ever since I was at Broadwater Farm, they have been there for me. They are proud of me but I am proud of them too. It's not easy to take me training all the time and all the effort that goes with it."
