Manchester United are willing to discuss a cash-plus-swap deal with Juventus for Arturo Vidal. The Daily Star says United have offered Juve £32m and a player in a swap deal for the playmaker.
It is understood the player in question is neither Mexican striker Javier Hernandez or England international Danny Welbeck.
Van Gaal has told Welbeck that he can leave United which has sparked interest from other clubs.
It is believed that he is behind Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Hernandez in the pecking order.
