Manchester United will remain patient on the fitness of Michael Carrick for this weekend's clash with Arsenal.
The veteran midfielder suffered a groin injury while on England duty last week and will require a fitness test for Saturday's trip to the Emirates Stadium.
"I have to wait for how he reacts and training sessions tomorrow (Friday) but I expect that he is also ready to play," said manager Louis van Gaal.
The Red Devils will also have to wait on left-back Luke Shaw who has been battling a hamstring injury.
Van Gaal added: "Luke Shaw, who felt a tight hamstring, is also a question mark."
