Manchester United kickoff their U19 UEFA Youth League campaign against Bayer Leverkusen this afternoon.
Tuesday's 4pm BST kick-off will allow the teenagers a chance to pit their wits against continental visitors at Salford City Stadium as Group A mirrors the Champions League assignment for David Moyes' first team.
United U19 coach Nicky Butt told manutd.com: "The whole point of the afternoon kick-off is to encourage more fans at Salford.
"We want all the away supporters to be there - a thousand or more of them would be brilliant.
"It's only a few miles away and it saves them sitting about the stadium, doing nothing all day, and a lot of United fans are often also floating around the ground waiting for the game to come along. So if they could all come along and support our lads, they will see a good game of football, hopefully with a great atmosphere, and still have plenty of time to get back to see the first team."
