Manchester United Treble winner Henning Berg has explained taking the AIK coaching job.
Berg replaces Andreas Brannstrom, who was dismissed on Sunday. The Norwegian previously coached ha Omonia Nicosia, Stabaek, Videoton, Blackburn, Legia Warszawa, Lilleström and Lyn.
The former Blackburn Rovers defender told Fotbolkanalen: "AIK is a big club. A club steeped in tradition and one of the largest in the Nordics. They won the titles in 2018, have many supporters and a great commitment around the club. The club means a lot to many people. It's exciting.
"There have been other options, yes. There has been interest from several clubs. Some I have said no to and some have chosen other coaches. It is normal.
"I haven't applied for a Premier League job since then, but of course I've talked to a few clubs and when AIK came into the picture, it was very interesting."
