Man Utd too big a step for me right now - Caen youngster Nangis

French teenager Lenny Nangis insists that moving to a massive club such as Manchester United is too big a step up at this early stage of his career.

The 17-year old Caen striker recently extended his contract with the French club despite having interest from bigger clubs including the English champions.

Nangis said it is nice to be linked with United but insisted that the decision to stay with Caen is one which will be of great benefit to his career.

"I was flattered by the interest shown in me by all of those big teams including Manchester United, a team I really like, but it is better for me to learn my football here," he told skysports.com.

"I know this environment and Caen have been good to me.

"Manchester United, or another big team, would have been a big step up for me at this moment.

"I still need to finish my learning process. I am only 17 years old and I am in no hurry to go abroad.

"I think after three years in French football I will be ready to move on, but at the moment the best place for me is Caen."
