Manchester United will reportedly allow Jose Mourinho to spend up to £300million on new players this summer.

Continuing speculation suggests that Mourinho will replace Louis van Gaal at the end of the season and with that will come an enormous war chest to splash around on top players.

The Daily Star is reporting that United will go after Barcelona ace Neymar, Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller, Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba and Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.

Varane's Real teammates Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Sergio Ramos remain on United's wish-list but it is unlikely the Spanish giants will offload any of their key trio soon.

A club source told the paper: "If Jose comes in he will be given whatever it takes to make United the best again.

"But it isn't just about how much is spent, what matters is how it is spent because United need the right players to take the forward.

"Only genuine world class stars will be looked at."
