Man Utd to block Rojo leaving in January

Manchester United are blocking any January moves for defender Marcos Rojo.

The Argentine was surplus to requirements in the summer, but he refused to move on loan.

Now United are willing to keep him, per The Sun.

Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been impressed by Rojo in training and thinks that he can serve a purpose as a backup for the centre-back and left back positions.

It is more likely that Rojo will move on in the summer, especially if United sign other defenders as part of their future recruitment drives.

A United insider is quoted by The Sun as saying: "The manager has been impressed with how Marcos has knuckled down since he almost left for Everton.

"He hasn't moaned about it, Ole knows he is a top defender when he can keep himself fit.

"He doesn't see anybody available out there in January who could improve on Marcos."
