Crewe Alexandra goal scorer Nick Powell played down his Wembley wonder goal in their League Two playoff victory against Cheltenham.

He scored a superb goal to add to his reputation as one of England's big new things.

Powell, a rumoured target of Manchester United, said of his goal: "If I'm honest I just whacked it. I knew the guy was to my left and with the space I had I just thought I might as well have a go."
