Birmingham City whiz Jude Bellingham admits growing up as a fan of Wayne Rooney.

By naming Rooney as his childhood hero - fuelling speculation he could follow in his footsteps by moving to Manchester United as a teenager.

Bellingham, 16, has burst onto the scene as a key part of Pep Clotet's Blues side in the Championship leading to a tussle for his signature.

United are believed to be battling with Borussia Dortmund in a bid to land the teenage star at the end of the season, reports the Daily Star.

Bellingham has now hinted that could inspire him to make a similar move after he posted a picture of Rooney, now with Derby County, during an Instagram Q&A in response to being asked who was his "hero growing up?"
