Manchester United are said to have put in their £51 million opening offer for Rasmus Hojlund.
The Denmark forward is already being compared to his slight namesake Erling Haaland at Manchester City.
Per Fabrizio Romano, United have put in a first bid to Italian side Atalanta for his services.
However, they are not coming close to the fee that Atalanta are demanding, as they are seeking at least £60 million.
The player is said to have already agreed terms with United on a long-term contract.
Paris Saint-Germain, however, also retain an interest in securing his services this summer.
