Manchester United are suffering an injury crisis.

Paul Scholes is the latest victim after the midfielder jetted home from United's tour of Asia following exploratory surgery on a knee problem.

Skipper Gary Neville, Louis Saha and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are all recovering from surgery and there is no guarantee they will be fit by the start of the new campaign.

New-boy Owen Hargreaves is still waiting to make his debut after a knee problem kept him out of United's first three Asia games, while midfielder Ji-Sung Park and keeper Ben Foster are out until at least the new year.
