Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck admits England's players were gutted after last night's defeat.

Welbeck admitted the England dressing room wasn't a pleasant place to be after the game.

"We have to hold our heads up high," said Welbeck. "It's very hard to take, and people aren't in the best of moods in the dressing room, but we have to evaluate what has happened for the future.

"Every game we got better, we kept improving, and we are bitterly disappointed to go out."
