Man Utd striker Rashford proud to win Player of the Year award

Manchester United's player of the year has been announced at their end of year awards.

The Red Devils have chosen Marcus Rashford as the standout star from their first team.

Rashford, who scored 30 goals in 55 games so far this term, emerged after a tough start to the campaign as their main scoring threat.

The forward, who should be available when United play the FA Cup final against Manchester City on Saturday, won United's play of the year award for the first time.

Manager Erik ten Hag and the rest of the squad were present at the end of season celebrations.

Rashford said: “Definitely a proud feeling, it's been a long time since an academy player has won this award so I feel a huge sense of pride.

“I just hope that more academy players can go on and win this award and feel what I'm feeling right now on the stage. I'm very happy, very pleased, and I just want to say a big thanks to team-mates, staff, because without them pushing you every day in training you don't get to see the best version of me.

“I appreciate all of you guys and thank you very much."
