Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez felt they could have done better against Barcelona last night.
Chicharito feels there's lessons to be learned from the 3-1 defeat.
"The defeat obviously hurts," he told reporters. "There are lessons to be learned, and we have to learn them.
"Now I have nothing to celebrate, nothing to shout about. I'm hurt: these losses always hurt, even moreso in a final.
"You can call this a failure or a disappointment. We would have liked to have lifted the cup, but instead we have to applaud."
Chicharito lauded Barca as deserved winners after he failed to get a shot on goal in 90 minutes against the Spanish champions.
He added: "Barcelona won the match well - they were better than us. They're the best football team in the world.
"You have to applaud them because they're champions."
Of star of the show Lionel Messi, Hernandez said: "I'm not surprised by him. He's the best in the world, and he's done what he does best."
