Manchester United are still awaiting a verdict from UEFA regarding the Champions League loss to Real Madrid last week.
Winger Nani was sent off early in the second half for a high boot in the 2-1 defeat - a decision which incensed Ferguson.
The United boss failed to show up at the post-match press conference which could land him a fine and a touchline ban whilst Nani is likely to be handed a straight one-match suspension.
The sanction were set to be handed out on Thursday but it is likely that UEFA will now make a final decision sometime on Friday.
