Man Utd staff on Ronaldo: He was always excused

Manchester United staff members have laid into Cristiano Ronaldo this week.

The Portugal forward, who did impress with United last season as he netted 24 goals in all competitions, was poor under Erik ten Hag.

Now with Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo has been accused of coveting more power than managers at United.

Sky Sports states that many in the Red Devils hierarchy were “at Ronaldo's whim" and that everyone had to fall in line, including medical and media personnel.

One staff member said that it felt as if everyone was there to serve Ronaldo.

He is also accused of faking injury to not play in a 4-1 loss to Manchester City last season.

A staff member said, per the source: "You had a player diagnosing himself, ruling himself out, leaving the club with no form of rehab plan without any permission.

"Instead of any punishment, he was excused and there were excuses for him.

“It showed the rest of the players that Ronaldo was above any rules and that he was the one in control."
