Manchester United signing Gabriel Obertan is grateful to Bordeaux for allowing him to move to England.

Obertan has thanked former United star Laurent Blanc, now Bordeaux coach, and assistant Jean Louis Triaud for allowing him to move to Old Trafford.

The winger said: "I'd like to thank Jean Louis Triaud and Laurent Blanc, who made my transfer easy. They thought about my progress above all.

"Now I have to work hard to be at the level of a squad that only has internationals. Being alongside great players is the best way to progress."
