Manchester United players have told David Moyes it's time to move on Wayne Rooney. The Daily Star says the manager has decided to dump wantaway Rooney on the sidelines after several United stars told the Scot they didn't want him in the team.
A group of the club's most experienced players raised their concerns with Moyes and told him they no longer thought Rooney wanted to help the side win games.
The striker was left at home last night when United flew to Sweden for a pre-season friendly in Stockholm, with club bosses claiming the 27-year-old was suffering from a shoulder problem.
Rooney held tense talks with Moyes yesterday when he told him he wanted to leave for Chelsea.
He is angered by United's refusal to sell him and wants to force the issue towards a conclusion.
