Man Utd's Owen injured again

Manchester United striker Michael Owen was injured once again in last night's narrow Champions League win over Wolfsburg.

The former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Newcastle United star was forced off the pitch after just 20 minutes with a groin injury after being cleared to play on Sunday despite hurting his groin in training.

The 29-year old came to United with ongoing injury issues and the move was criticised by many but Sir Alex Ferguson said the latest setback was not a problem and he would be back in action within weeks.

"He felt his groin after training on Sunday," Ferguson explained. "He trained a little bit on Monday and we had a rest day yesterday.

"He thought he was fine. Groins are groins. On a wet surface like that he's turned quickly and it's come again.

"We had to take him off. I don't think it's a serious one. Groin injuries can be troublesome and it could be two to three weeks.

"The only good part about it is his fitness levels are very good, so he shouldn't need to worry about that."
