Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera will appear in a Spanish court next month as the Levante-Real Zaragoza match-fixing case gets under way.
The 25-year old was part of the Zaragoza side that avoided relegation from La Liga in 2011 thanks to a 2-1 win over Levante which is the match being scrutinized by Spain's anti-corruption authorities.
Herrera will give evidence on Thursday, March 5 just half a day after playing against Newcastle United as the questions regarding the manner of the triumph continue to mount.
El Pais reports that Zaragoza officials paid Levante around 965,000 prior to the match which allowed them to stay in Spain's top flight and it has been alleged that players, including Herrera, were financially looked after.
