Man Utd's Ferguson surprised by Bradley sacking

Bob Bradley's sacking from his job as USA national team manager has surprised Manchester United's Sir Alex Ferguson.

Bradley has been relieved of his duties after five years in charge and Ferguson indicated that it was a bit of a shock to hear the news.

"It's disappointing to hear, because I think he's done a fine job," said Ferguson.

"He's always been a diligent, honest worker."

Bradley led the USA to the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup, guided them to a second-placed finish in the 2009 Confederations Cup and oversaw the Round of 16 finish at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
