Manchester United are shopping in Brazil for a new defensive signing.

AS says United are among the clubs interested in Atletico Mineiro defender Gabriel.

Gabriel, 21, is regarded as one of the finest young centre-backs in Brazilian football and his displays have prompted interest from several clubs in Europe.

Barcelona and Valencia have shown the most interest so far and could make offers when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Villarreal and Atletico Madrid have also made enquiries, while United and Monaco are keen too.
